Re: Guilty Pleasures...?
And me too with the Sims 2 I'm a Sims 2 player. Basically all I ever try to do is torture them. About all I can do is deprive them of their needs to torture them. I like to force them to fight and insult each other all the time if I can. I'll make a couple just so I can make them divorce or break u...

so has Penny Arcade made a funny strip about it yet?
I wonder if fans of 50 Cent even like his shitty games. They're probebly like,.. "Yeah, 50 Cent is going to kick some terrorist ass for stealing his bling!!! I can't wait!!"

Re: Guilty Pleasures...?
Just about everything that gives me joy in my life is a guilty pleasure. Come to think of it, I really should try to learn how to stop feeling so guilty about taking pleasure in things. I think the whole "pleasure=bad" thing came from religion and the idea that the pursuit of pleasure, (most common...

I love watching Naruto and DBZ whenever it happens to be on when I'm flipping through channels. But I don't really pay attention to the point where I could tell you any of the storylines. I find these cartoons relaxing.

I'll watch ANY movie or TV show if Jennifer Love Hewitt is in it. (and she's mostly in horribly crappy straight to DVD movies) She's been my celebrity crush since Party of Five.

I'm like you except I've yet to even start on anything to submit. I've always liked making comics because it's fun to make characters have adventures and say crazy stuff. I like drawing and I like making my own fake worlds. The thing is,.. I went looking for a free webcomic hosting site just so that...

Re: The World's Oldest Cartoon
that is interesting. and it makes me wonder, did anyone get taught how to read comics? or was it something you learned on your own. Me personally, I learned on my own, but I recall teaching other kids how to do it at a young age. I was about 4 years old when I looked at comic books for the first ti...

I know, that seems kind of like overkill just for drawing a suburb scene.

Did you draw technical blueprints for the helicopter before you could put it in the panel, too?

Re: NIN - Ghosts I-IV
well Ministry haven't retired yet. after Paul's death, they planned a tour and it starts, its north american leg this month ironically. I've enjoyed Ministry for a number of years, and I've seen them three times. I thought Paul Barker left the band after Animositisomina. I remember reading on Amazo...

Re: NIN - Ghosts I-IV
It's entirely instrumental (but in the NIN way, of course) and is 2 hours of amazingness. Anyone else a NIN freak? There has to be more of you on the board. I know it. NIN was the band that got me hooked on the industrial sub genre of music. He could do no wrong in the 90's. EVERYTHING he did, whet...

Re: another state of the music industry article
I jumped on the MP3 bus back when it first showed up with Napster and ripping programs that came bundled with CD-R drives. And I've owned about 6 different MP3 players(including the 30 Gb video Ipod) and they ALL suck to me as far as experiencing the music goes. When I have thousands of songs all pl...

Edit: Hey Blackhole, have you ever read Snow Crash? :) yep. It's awesome. Sadly it's the only book by the author that is awesome. Before I found Snow Crash I had read Neuromancer and just about everything else by William Gibson. He could do no wrong untill Pattern Recognition. That book and the new...

I covered up the engine detail with an enclosure. I think I forgot to draw the other handlebar too...

usually my characters plus their speech balloons take up 98% of most panels so usually the background ends up being unrecognizable.

I draw my ninjas in their pajamas. None of that high-tech armor stuff. (yuck) I sketched this last night while listening to the Alice Cooper radio show. His ear is bothering me. I should've just covered it up with hair. The angle of the sword is wrong too. It should be more perpindicular to his arm....

In some ways I don't even get the concept of defining a drawing's environment as the "background". It's an essential part of the art, and shouldn't be merely a chore or afterthought. Time consuming, yes, but essential to mood, aesthetics, and storytelling. And oftentimes I find it the most fun part...

It happens,.. but the hard part is figuring out if it's just the people not caring about the stories due to general apathy towards comics, or if the story just isnt interesting. Or maybe the panel-to -panel story progression resembles more of an art gallery instead of stuff happening. (too many dyna...
