Re: Who knows whats what with Humour?

The great Spike Milligan once wrote: “Just when I had made my today secure with safe yesterdays I see tomorrow coming with it's pale glass star called hope. It shatters on impact and falls like splinters on cruel rain, and I see the red oil of life running from my wrists onto tomorrows heaven.” Make...

I imagine this scene to take place in the middle of a busy high street while she's gazing longingly through the display window of the local pogo stick shop.

Draw something for Dreamleak!

Hello there! How are you? ... Good? That's splendid! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in drawing a little something for the webcomic " Dreamleak " for a guest and/or f'nartage week coming up in about a weeks time? It's not much notice I know, but I'm sure some of you fine artistés could...

Re: Removable dialogue balloons?

If you wanted to show off the art, why not flip it so that the image with the dialogue is the default, then if you mouseover you can see it without? This is a great yet worryingly obvious suggestion, but to be honest I don't think my artwork deserves that sort of directed attention, yet. The way it...

Removable dialogue balloons?

I guess this could be considered a technique maybe... For a few strips now I've been experimenting with rollover dialogue balloons, where the strip is initially shown with all dialogue removed and the reader has to roll their mouse over to see the words and such. I started doing this because I was c...

I pressed the "misty, fog effect... thingy" button. (scribble a very rough single base colour with a hard brush then go over it all again with the blur tool. Then use some sort of natural brush thing with slightly lighter and darker tones with a low opacity and pressure to add lovely swirly cloudy b...

Even though this thread was originally for the newcomers LAST year I think I'll plug away here anyway, to save potentially upsetting the people who have previously posted... So anyway, Dreamleak started up early last June and so is eligable to be nominated for the Newcomers award, so if anyone think...

I've had my first few google hits this past month!

Unfortunately, i think they've all been searching for some American RnB rapper person called 'the DREAM' and his new 'LEAK'ed album.

I think I've used this decompression thing before now. But now that I've become aware of this concept, I'll be consciously aware of it while drawing and I'll be constantly questioning myself whether or not I should be using it! Am I overusing it? Am I not using it enough? Should I perhaps cram loads...

That's proabably one of the best things anyone has ever said to me.

However, I can't help but feel it might be slightly unfair to compare my strip to something of that quality. :-?
