Re: Black & White Webcomics Still Viable?
I originally went for black and white with traditional media and shading + some black areas and generally no backgrounds, as I had plenty of time to work on it in class. Since switching schools I've reverted to what is basically just line art. I'm sort of wondering what sort of magical colouring met...

Re: Harry Potter
I would recommend anything by Niel Gaiman (Good Omens is hilarious if you're alright poking fun at religion), The Song of Ice and Fire series (just warning it's a bit... NSFW), and if you liked Twilight you may like Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Anne Mccaffrey's novels are an interesting blend bet...

Re: What do you like in a webcomic?
Okay I've given this one a LOT of thought and come to the conclusion that I have no idea what I specifically like in webcomics but I do know what I DON'T like: - I am sick to death of gamer/geek wish fulfillment comics that consist of four or so characters cliches either sitting around making "witt...

Re: Archives
Now, by archives do you mean a page after another each with a comic on it with buttons that help the reader navigate through them? 'cuz that's done automatically. you can find any page in your archive by typing in http://yoursite.comicgenesis.com/d/dateofpage.html putting in the appropriate terms in...

Re: need tips and critique on my comic
The title is actually good, in my non-Portuguese opinion, because it's unique. you could add an English subtitle though or make it a bit smaller, so that people can quickly see English on the site as well (and not have to scroll down). As far as consistent character design goes, it seems you've done...

Re: Demoralized Logic
So far (I'm almost to 2007) the art's not bad... but I'd have to say the characters not quite three dimensional. You may want to refer to the writing help thread at the top of the forum, as well as other tutorials around the web, practice... or get someone to be your editor, show them the script bef...

Re: It's official, I plead for your guest strips!
Now I drew up a comic and everything... but since I'm at a boarding school using the school internet and they still treat teenagers like impressionable young children, they've blocked photobucket, ftp usage, and even adding attachments to gmail for some strange reason (I can't even upload photos to ...

My "commissions" are also just gifts to friends... although since I don't get paid I can take up to six months to finish it and no one has had a problem with it... even though they were never coloured, sometimes not even shaded in

Re: NEW COMIC ART!! PETROS-ART!!!
I agree with Ripnormality. If you decide to adopt a simplistic style, it'd be a good idea to have a clean, consistent style, (like xkcd or Cyanide and Happiness). If the art is squiggly, amorphous, obviously MS-paint drawn, and/or "like the ones 3year-old children make," I believe you will lose read...

I draw my sides in with photoshop, using the guide thingies. Then I just use the brush tool and the shift button. Yay straight lines!

Re: Keeping Interest
TL,DR No I'm joking :D you brought up some good points. I have a similar story, where I had five books lined up. I got about sixty pages into the first one though, but I had made the mistake of asking my mom what she thought at about every paragraph. I ended up being more interested in the second bo...

Re: Excellent website for learning to draw people
I generally consider myself to be more skilled in drawing people than anything else, but when I saw that there were no replies, I clicked to see what it's about. While I've been getting by on drawing from real life and imagination, I definitely think this website is a helpful reference tool. Thanks!...

Re: Major revamp of comic (good idea?)
I looked at both comics, glanced at the art then and now, and I think you've definitely improved. And if you're willing to redraw all the pages from the beginning, that's great in my opinion. Few artists are willing to undertake such a task. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. Since the pages ...

I'm not entirely sure about what tasks RedWolf and Kisai each do, but Kisai may be able to help.
And being the admins, they have a ton of stuff to do. First you should give it a few more days and then contact Kisai/contact Redwolf again.

Re: How do I keep my ideas in order?
For my current comic, which is currently plotless, (any attempt at plot has so far kinda sucked) I carry around post-its on the inside of my notebooks. For my other (not yet on the 'net) comic, I wrote out a story on some notebook paper, which totally sucked. Then I rewrote it, this time organizing ...
