I agree with Ripnormality. If you decide to adopt a simplistic style, it'd be a good idea to have a clean, consistent style, (like xkcd or Cyanide and Happiness). I draw my sides in with photoshop, using the guide thingies. Then I just use the brush tool and the shift button. Yay straight lines!
