Does anyone actually read "History" Pages?
You know those "History" pages? The ones that every fantasy writer wants to make because there's this HUGE world behind the comic and there is no way to describe it within the comic? Does anyone actually read those? If No, is there any reason to have one on your website? If Yes, what is the best way...

"The Language Barrier" usage
I once did a two-comic stint involving translating. Essentially, one character was translating from Chinese into English, and from English into Chinese. I thought this would make for an interesting little idea, so I did it. You can see it http://valkyrk.comicgenesis.com/d/20070917.html there. Howeve...

Re: Tokyo Pop's New Contract Ripping Off Artists
who honestly doesn't know that contracts can really fuck you over? Holy hell this is awful! After reading snippets of the document, I have come to the conclusion that you'd have to be deemed clinically retarded to actually go through with something like that. Soooooooo, to get the proper perspectiv...

Re: Template Help
The problem might be the fact that you set it to 8 and 1/2 by 11. That's the size of a standard sheet of paper. Therefore, it would require the picture to take up, literally, every inch of the piece of paper. However, your printer might have a minimum amount of white space required to have on the pa...

Re: Has my comic improved any?
While we're on this topic, Paint.Net is also a lesser-known, yet valuable resource. It is pretty much a cross between Paint and Photoshop, and I find myself using it often.

Re: Webcomics 101 for Teens
The number one thing. Are you a teen? Were you a teen when you made webcomics? Then I don't think you know very much about this wonderful thing I learned when making comics. High School Look, they're not going to be around kids who understand what they're doing. I learned this the hard way . I'll gi...

Re: Has my comic improved any?
You'll never really improve doing it the way you're doing it now. If you keep drawing you'll get better over time, but piecing it together in paint... it will only get you so far It's an ok springboard when you're really new, but if you want to be taken at all seriously, you should invest in a diff...

Sprite comics/Emotions
Recently....Lance stated... I want to point out in particular the facial expressions and eye movements: the way the characters show emotion and engage each other. This is the bedrock of comix storytelling to me and with the sprites you basically lose all of that. Since this was another question enti...

Re: Switching Styles and Hiatuses
Yeah, don't worry. I'm just using this as kind of an...extreme filler...until I get back into gear. It takes me FIVE TIMES as long to do a comic in photoshop as it did to make a comic in paint. So, I just decided to use all my sprites as a subsititute until I'm able to make a comic in photoshop with...

Re: Switching Styles and Hiatuses
I just saw a REALLY good use of style change in a comic recently in College Roomies from Hell!!! (http://crfh.net/). In this comic, dream, flashback sequences are drawn vastly different from the regular comic strips, to differentiate from when someone is dreaming, flashbacking(?), etc, or going abou...

Switching Styles and Hiatuses
I have two topics which I'd like you to consider. Firstly, what do you think of style switching in the middle of a comic? For example, what if I draw the first few comics in a semi-realistic style, but then suddenly switch over to a sprite comic style? Would that distract the reader a lot, or would ...

Multiple Fonts
This is something that I am curious about, what is your take on using different fonts in a webcomic? Basically, it's like this. In my webcomic, language is a very important part of the story. Therefore, there are 5 different languages being used at any given time. Currently, I use a different font f...

EDIT:Oh yeah....19 and married.... Secondly, Also, 'single' and 'married' doesn't cover everything unless you're includin...

Looking for information on web comic makers
I'm doing a very unofficial project, and I could use some information for it. Just select the option that applies to you in terms of age and status. There was a poll kind of like this a while ago, but I'm making a new one since that didn't quite get the information I needed. If you would like to com...

I want to add to this thread just because I was at your point once too. It really is annoying having all those stray dots.....everywhere...so, That Guy has some good advice. 1)Do ink your comics. With a black pen. I use Staedtler pigment liner to ink my comics. Scanning and pencil just don't mix. 2)...

Second page different?
Okay, so I did some editing to my website. I updated the daily template and the indextempate and all that, and it seems to work well. My first page has the current template that I want.......but my second page doesn't. But my third page DOES.....and all my others have the correct template as well......
