What triggers an Auto-Update?

I'm more curious than requiring specific help, but what is exactly the trigger for a regular automated update? If the index template has been changed, is that enough that when the scheduled time comes around a regular update occurs, or will it wait until a new comic is in the comics folder. For exam...

In my experice women artist ask less money. I don't know why, but I can get the same or better quality of work from a woman artist for half the price of a man artist. I am not the one setting the prices I just pay what they post as their comssion price. So, I can see this from an economic point of ...

Would adding an extra digit or two, such as 2007122101 solve the problem or would it result in the same situation as adding a letter (i.e. several pages displayed on a single page) or would it it wait until the calendar hits the noted date (So... 01 of month 21 in the year 200,712)? I know that for ...

I'm more curious as to why the male-writer/female-artist dynamic appears to be so pervasive. I can think of several comics that have this set-up, but off the top of my head I can't think of a mixed pairing where it is the other way around.

Anyone have any thoughts on why?

I think you'll have just as much trouble arguing over a qualified disinterested 3rd party as someone connected to CG. As a non-participant, I have to agree that the themed short-story format with a few artists makes the most sense to me. It sounds far more interesting than an entire series of advert...

did anyone else open this thread in the hope it would in some way be related to TMBG? Time is flying like an arrow, And the clock hands go so fast they make they wind blow, And it makes the pages of the calendar go flying out the window, one by one 'Til a hundred years are on the frong lawn, And th...

I have it on good authority, based on this thread, that yeahduff has engaged in a vicious feud with a sizable number of webcomic creators. If you play with the context enough, it could be the equivalent to a rapper's feud.

Welcome. You'll find out pretty soon that the inmates are running the institution. All indications to the contrary, we're very pleasant and helpful. Once you're up and running, the Help forum will be your best friend. I'd be happy to help, but I suspect it would be like the blind leading the blind. I set up the wiki entry soon after I started the comic (year ago). As I recall, the wiki interface is...."uncooperative" to say the least. I got HC's entry sort of presentable, and then never went back. I assume it st...

It only appears in the rotation if you've updated within the last seven days. That's why you won't find mine in there either at the moment. :shifty:

Actually, I think my pog generates a fair amount of traffic. According to my stats, a chunk of traffic comes from the main CG page and I assume that is via the pog. (Funny, because I think I've only seen it appear once, as opposed to some pogs, which seem to always be up.) My pog isn't terribly art...

My pog got approved a lot faster (at least I'm assuming it got approved because I think i spotted it once.) I still haven't gotten any hits from it, so I think they must not be very useful :P You should be able to tell from the siteadmin if it is approved or not. As for getting hits from it, if tha...

The best place to get criticism, if you're willing to pay the $10 to register, is the Something Awful forums. Alternatively, you could search for critique groups on Live Journal, other forums, etc. That is ultimately something I admire about a lot of the people hereabouts is that willingness--almos...

We actually do a fair amount of historical research (seeing as it is set in France during the Hundred Years War), even if we end up ignoring so much of it. I think we just prefer to know when we're being anachronistic. A lot of it becomes a jumping off point if nothing else.

The melodrama amuses me. :-)

You must admit, Quixotic desires to spring the "princess" notwithstanding, that the prison itself is well done. We may have scripted it a little slow again, unfortunately, but I think it really showcases what Mel can do.

So it looks like that it is indeed a dying resolution. In that case, I might have to consider a site redesign.

Just to clarify, I'm guessing that minor extra features that typically are connected with the submission through the siteadmin (such as pogs and banners) are on hold as well?

Good luck with everything!
