Finally had time to finish the 2nd page with the feedback provided here;
http://varnaria.aquamentoscomics.com/pages/002.html
The stuff that's been removed from page 2 will be on page 3 with a few changes.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Critique art style.
Sorry for quadruple-posting (was kinda in the zone today) but it's really a separate thought and separate stage. NewPan2.jpg Added the visual effects I planned, and a few experimental stuff I didn't plan. Is the background too 'artsy'? The Greens/Blues I had been using just didn't fit this. It's goi...

Re: Critique art style.
NewPan2.jpg Here is the image I've just finished. It's for the 2nd page (to show that the ritual is going on throughout the conversation to tie it in better). It's not quite finished, a few more 'overlay' effects (glowing spheres and such, glowing eyes). I inked this freehand. At first I was REALLY...

Re: Critique art style.
I guess a picture is worth a thousand words. Here is the first page when I did it the first time, before I discovered the point to point tool. As you can see, the line quality is horrendous. I can't even get parallel lines (which aren eeded for robe trim on the guy in blie, and most of the robe-wear...

Re: Critique art style.
Hm.. okay, I'll work with trying a handdrawn ink line some more. I scan at 300 dpi and then double it to draw my lines/colour etc. (Actually when I put my 'finished' pieces next to my handdrawn penciles I kinda see what you mean.) Dreamaniac - it might help if I explain that this is more of a Drama ...

Re: Critique art style.
I draw my art in pencil, scan and then use the point to point with my pen tab. I can't seem to get a decent line any other way in any software. I preffer painter IX, any suggestions on brush settings to get a good line? Nothing I've tried works well. I'm happy with this if I can't do it freehand. Th...

I have a pressure sensitive pen tablet, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Re: Critique art style.
Oh yeah, I just changed the first page's background from the textured wood to a dark turquoise.. I really like that a whole lot better. Looks 'fresher'. Thanks for the suggestion. http://varnaria.aquamentoscomics.com/pages/001.html (The 2nd page still has the dark wood, but there's a couple frame ch...

Re: Critique art style.
Thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind. The circle is really important (in fact the main reason they are all there). With the comments above, I plan to add some of that on the 2nd page to increase the tension, which will increase the cohesion of the part of the scene. Thanks for bringing that to my a...

Re: Critique art style.
Thanks for that. Perhaps a dark blue background?
Good poing on adding more 'time' between events. I think I could make it work.

Re: Critique art style.
Thanks for your comments! The bright purple, while not normal for midieval style clothes, serves a specific purpose in this scene. He normally wears red robes (thankfully, those purple robes are a pain to draw) Now that you've pointed it out, I definatly see how the purple dominates the image.. but ...

Please critique the art style on the webcomic I've started putting up. There are only 2 pages so far and this comic is NOT ready for primetime (I want to touch up the webpage more and have more comics before I go 'live'). http://varnaria.aquamentoscomics.com/pages/001.html http://varnaria.aquamentos...

Re: Synthetic Life web comic reaches 200!
Was going through trying to find 'actioned'... and noticed page 205 when you click on the comic dosn't like right (it works when you click on 'next'). The link on the image points to '206' rather than '206.html'. I'll edit this if/when I find 'actioned'. I don't remember where I wrote "they actioned...

Re: Synthetic Life web comic reaches 200!
Wow I'm hooked! Very well done! I'm on 7-17 now. A few things - when it mentions SDP or whatever it is she uses on the other robot.. it's in red with an asterix (*) which usually means there's a footnote, but there isn't a footnote on that page? Other than that, very compelling story so far, art and...

Re: Rhapsodies at 700
I just read this all the way through - fantastic! Definatly one I'd check regularly. I especially like how you've developed Nancy and uhm.. forget her name.. Mrs Lo the singer. And I really liked the dichotomy when Kate was book-signing and had to be.. not herself. The characters are believable and ...

Re: Fantasia: Dropdown for Fantasy comics
Hello! My comic isn't ready for advertising yet (I'd like to have 20 pages before I do any kind of advertising - I'm about a 1/4 of the way done averaging about 1-2 comics a week.), but I'm wanting to clarify a few things; 1) Is this open to non-ComicGenesis pages (I have my own host) 2) Is there a ...

Re: Help me re-find this comic!
I found some of the panels I had saved on my computer because they were really well done - I'd post them but I think that would be a copyright violation. The main character's name is Seth, his ex-boyfriend IS Miguel (was right about that) and there was also a character in the beginning nicknamed "Ge...

Help me re-find this comic!
My computer erased all of my bookmarks, and one of my favourite comics was on it.. and I can't remember it's name !!! =Z. I don't even know if it was a keenspot/comicgenesis comic or not! The story starts out with a guy finding this other guy naked in his bathtub. This naked boy has lost all his mem...

I played aroudn with Photoshop at work. (I work in a photo lab, and they have PS on one of the computers for digital restorations, something I havn't been trained on. They also have a 21" WACOM monitor so I was happier than a pig in ... uh well you know the expression ^-^.) Anyways, definatly someth...

Yes I can do that, but the problem is my lines arn't neet enough to get a good wand tool (invariably I have a 'gap' somewhere) Also, since some of my lines are on other layers, the wand simply dosn't work (I do my face lines on a separate layer than my hair, which is on a separate layer than my robe...
