Scripts are Chinese to me. What I was going for in another thread was some way of translating Ennias Longscript's Journal into the Racconan alphabet (Lovecraft's Diary) as a novelty book from Ralph that I would pay 20 bucks for. No scripts necessary, just patience. Turn book over, scan page, let Om...

So sometime in the near future you will be able to 1) Scan all the journal pages on the CDs 2) Recognize all the letters A-Z 3) Replace them in the image with the Lovecraft's Diary equivalent character 4) Print out the result 5) Three hole punch the pages and put them in a ring binder 6) Ship the r...

Can you replace the characters with another font you downloaded (like Lovecraft's Diary)? Sadly, yes, and this is just another new front opened up in the ongoing jihad between spammers and sysadmins. Making images un-OCRable is a pretty big part of it. However, due to the way statistical filters wo...

I read antispam programs are starting to use optical character recognition on images that contain the spam message in my paper today.). yep, that's been going around. I hacked together a script to do that just the other day, in fact. :) works pretty well, adds information for the statistical filter...

Then there are people who read your comic, but put up with the crap because TotQ is genuinely a good comic, and would genuinely prefer that you leave the overt politicizing out of it. C.S. Lewis had it right; the story comes first, the Christianizing comes second. Your ministry will go better if you...

politics and HO
Putting politics into TotQ means that the forum is fair game for political responses. Unless you plan to separate your political comic strips from your real comics, I don't see anything wrong with your readers assuming the same.

One group grumbled, wrote letters and speaks about it on the internet. The other group rioted, killed people and burned down buildings. I would submit lumping the behaviors togather is in and of itself less then smart. I wasn't talking about that; I was talking specifically about Ralph's reaction: ...

addendum to previous post: you'll probably bring up the fact that it was government-funded. Probably a grant. Grant givers rarely know what the artist will do with the money, and they don't generally specify things like "don't trash Christians with it". The artist, while I think he was a troll, was ...

I think it's a little silly to claim that Christians in the USA are being persecuted. Prejudiced against, certainly. They're a big target, and big targets, all things equal, will get a proportionately larger number of attacks by people dissatisfied with their lot in life, or trying to make a stateme...

Oh, and I'd dearly love to see a Questor a week. Say, Friday. Then a buffer can be built up. It's hard to resist the temptation to post them in advance, I'm sure, but I think I speak for a lot of readers that regular is better than often. :) Although irregular posting is a good way to pump up ad rev...

Liberals in this forum have nothing to fear unless they cannot restrain themselves from insulting other people or aggrandizing themselves beyond all reason, in which case they tend to receive insults and mockery in return. I've been reading this forum on and off for a while, and it doesn't take muc...
