I'll offer what I can for empathy. My father died suddenly two years ago. It was hard on all of us in the family for a long time, but we mourned and went on, always remembering him. Going back to a few months ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had an operation to remove it. She had ...

I'm generally not the sort of person to write something with explicit violence or sex beyond supporting the story. I also generally avoid using curse words above PG13, regardless of the situation. My storylines can probably be morbid in one way or another, but they're not portrayed as a gorefest... ...

Personally, I would probably go with B, maybe a little bit of C as well. I'm generally a nice guy, and usually if someone says something like that then I'm a bit pissy for a while, but I get over it and forgive them. Unless it's serious, I just get over it. ... So naturally on the inside, I'm burnin...

Missing Alberta Student
Robert Barrington Leigh is a fellow student at UoT's math department, and had travelled to his home in Alberta recently. I learned this morning that he's been missing since sunday evening after going to a folk festival on his bike. It was quite a surprise since he was in some of my classes and I kno...

you're going to have to qualify that. Spoken like a true scientist. My LWK forum was useful because people notified me of missing pages or mistakes, and because they cheered by comics occasionally, so that lifted my confidence. However, all of that would've probably been done through PM or E-mail i...

Personally, I always just make up the name on the fly with no meaning attached, with only the endings and vowel stress to imply the gender. Janea, Rainis, Mimmellene, etc. In one case though the names of all my bad guys were modifications or rearrangement of the nicks of some of the people involved ...

Let's see, * I'm studying math, hence I'm good at it. * I can program well and have made quite a few small games. * Speaking of which, I am generally good at video games. * I'm a pessimist who actually is quite happy. * I have an uncanny ability to not do work when I really should be... like right n...

- Topic: Are you any better off asking for writers than artists?

It's true, writers in general are more numerous than the artists. This isn't limited to just webcomics though - the main reason why I can make pixel art and draw a little bit better than a doorknob is because I couldn't find anyone to do the art work for a game I was making. Ended up for the better ...

I tend to redraw my line art a fair bit, and ctrl+z is a good friend of mine, but once I get to the shading I'm not so picky since it usually comes out the same anyway. I may notice something wrong after the shading is done, but I rarely edit the outlines after that point, and even if I do it's only...

What's odd is National Geographic did an article on a people called the Moken last year... and here I thought my Moken Fa was original or something, hehehe. That tends to always happen when you make up a name - if it sounds somewhat reasonable, then it probably already exists somewhere. For example...

I'm interested in this as well, but I don't know what size I should aim for. I have a bit of flexibility in making them, so panels and text can be put in or taken out to reformat the pages to the desired size. I know mini comics are somewhere around 6x8 (usually 4.25x5.5), but everything I do is dig...

Frist off, to tell a story is the main reason why I started this, but not really the main reason for motivation. Since I've started not too long ago, my drive is mainly the usual work addiction you get starting off. I know it won't last since I'm also working on a game that's been in the works for o...
