Re: Bullet trails and heat beams?
For the bullet trail--from what I remember of The Matrix, you pretty much want to draw "ghosts" of the bullet--so lower the opacity and outline selective curves.

Re: Does this look as bad as I think it does?
I usually put a reasonably heavy book over anything I scan, takes care of the edges pretty nicely
And also, the image size is fine. I speak as one who is paranoid about art theft.

Re: Drawing Wind...
What about using the environment? If there's wind there's probably also trees or sand, maybe show a leaf fluttering in the wind, or motion in the trees, or sand blowing up... a flyer maybe? These are in addition to lines, of course. Pretty much what I would recommend: things moving with swoopy, win...

Re: who here can advise me on FLASHBACKS?
Yeah, captions aren't a bad idea--in general, I stick them in their own chapters and use clues in the setting or with characters being clearly identified as being at a younger age to make it clear.

Re: Keeping Interest
Thanks! It's the main character from my latest project (It's still in development, though, so it's not online yet) I haven't ever published an online series before, and I hope that this will be my fist one (I've always worked with traditional formats, so web comics will be a new experience for me)....

Re: Keeping Interest
Yeah--I do find that I do better for a couple of months and then go on a decline, the problem is that usually during the decline I have a new idea/an epiphany that the original idea would be far better completely reworked. This means I don't finish anything. :O As for the 24-hour thing: what about b...

Re: If I were to animate something
For comics, Flash is ideal (although honestly, I hate that program so much that I'd rather use PS3 to make animated gifs). If you want more film-style effects, use AfterEffects (or FinalCut on a Mac).

Re: How do I keep my ideas in order?
Notecards! For some reason, they are easier to cross out, throw away, what have you. Personally, I do none of this. I know what kind of plot and characters I need and take it from there (but I'm not a fan of complicated plots or many characters, so it works out for me). Biggest drawback: realizing y...

Cool!
Although personally, this should be balanced with drawing from actual models.

Re: Keeping Interest
The mistake I made in SFA was just diving in without thinking about my characters or plot. I made it through 8 strips before I ran out of steam. This time I'm writing character bios & plot lines first. Once I get about 20 or so strips written I'll start drawing. As the characters are current & past...

Re: NEW COMIC ART!! PETROS-ART!!!
The reason that kind of thing works for older people is because you know they're skilled and deliberately choosing to ignore it, so I'd add a little more detail: for instance, is that a frying pan or mallet? The handle shouldn't just be a line.
But if it's hilarious, you can get away with it.

Re: Keeping Interest
I know what you're talking about. So far I've been safe with the story I'm working on now (knock on wood), but there's been times in the past where I take a look at something I've worked on for a long time and wonder if it's even worth it anymore. ...and that unintentionally became the Longest. Pos...

Keeping Interest
Honestly, I'm less worried about whether or not readers are interested in what I'm doing than whether or not I'm still interested. I have this problem where, fairly early on, I decide the ideas...or the characters...or, pretty much, everything...was poorly conceived and is a waste of time for me to ...

Re: Reaching the end of the proverbial line
Ooo...I totally always feel that way. It might be better for you, though, to keep drawing the new pages in a better style and, once you're satisfied with that, to go back and fix the old pages...that way, you'll have more practice, etc.

Re: Crit needed
Definitely agree: I'm finding this far too busy for my taste; if it were just pictures, this would be okay, but with text added in, things should be a little simpler. So, weirdly enough, I'm basically telling you that you're too creative. :O I guess a better way of putting it is, don't waste all you...

updating non-index webpages
Every time a website updates from workspace/webpages, it ends up in /public_html instead of going to /public_html/webpages. I have it set up so that /webpages/ is listed for all other webpages...but this doesn't seem to be doing anything. I'm out of ideas. (I've been manually moving pages in :8080, ...

Re: What's going on with my HTML? Help me fix, please!
Is the problem that the screen isn't wide enough for the page? It looked okay to me, personally.
If so:
Since it's CSS, you have to go into the settings for the body (or whatever it's called...I've managed to forget) and change those to however many pixels you want it to be.

Re: Does the translation work?(Criticism for Under the New Moon)
If you are planning to publish this, you should definitely get an editor (preferably one knowledgeable in the original language) to help you out. The sound effects are also not what would be conventionally seen in English, but yes, it does work.
