Re: Laugh, damn you. -_-
Two married buddies are out drinking one night when one turns to the other and says, "You know, I don't know what else to do. Whenever I go home after we've been out drinking, I turn the headlights off before I get to the driveway. I shut off the engine and coast into the garage. I take my shoes off...

Re: Name this Cat
Wow, we had a cat that looked exactly like him when he was a kitten. We named him "Fonzie". (When he was born Happy Days was still on the air). He lived 19 years. It's a lucky name

Re: i just had a wreck and i need to vent
Well, thankfully you didn't have any injuries. The best accident I ever had was somewhat similar to yours. I was driving a rental car, a red Chevy Cavalier (this is back in the early 90's), in Cleveland. Light turned green, I went and this lady just blew through her red light and hit my car on the l...

Re: Suddenly, SinFest = Huge Piles of Fail.
While I like SinFest as well, it's definitely got a religious subtext running through it. Not just the characters, but the slant is very reminiscent of Asians who went through Christian Bible Studies (as many of my friends from high school did). Having a rather blatant plug for why you should believ...

Putaro - any recommended coding environment for C++? Hmmm...Personally I'm not a real big C++ fan. I actually do most of my work in Java these days with a bit of C and Objective C now and then. If you're on Windows, Visual C++ is pretty much it, isn't it? The Mac is basically Xcode. If you're on Li...

We got married on a boat (chartered) and had the captain perform the ceremony. I think weddings are a great excuse to have a party and get all of your friends together. It doesn't happen that often after you get out of college. There's also something about having stood up in front of all your friend...

. we're using some thing called Alice which make programing more friendly, according to their propaganda video on their website. I took a look at the website for that Alice thing (I think I found the right one - http://www.alice.org?). If you're interested in learning C you're probably well beyond ...

The one big problem with devising a test or series of criteria for determining who should get the vote is that such a system can be manipulated. Test results can be tampered with, if someone really wants to do it, allowing an unscrupulous - and undesirable - politician to establish himself as ruler...

Buddhism (at least the Japanese varient) has its own set of internal contradictions. Theoretically you are reincarnated after a period (I think it was 75 days). However, there's also a holiday every year (Obon) where the spirits of the dead come home and you're supposed to put out lights and stuff ...

Well, as someone who lives in a country where the majority of people identify as Buddhists, I'd have to say that it's a religion. My wife's father passed away a few years ago so I have spent a lot of time in Buddhist ceremonies. It certainly has all the trappings of a religion. That's not to say tha...
