200 Episode Milestone for Planescape Survival Guide!

Howdy folks, Back in aught 5, I started Planescape Survival Guide on this very comic server. Now some 200 episodes later, I still update it on a semi-irregular basis! That said, we're getting closer to the grand finale of the whole storyline. Shadow demons formed of dark matter have arrived and thre...

Re: Uploading website

You can make the index file yourself, though. But if you do, the auto-updating won't work. Incidentally, the easiest FTP program of all is Windows Explorer. Use the Address toolbar with the ftp site name and then use File->Login As to login with your name and password. You can also save FTP sites to...

Re: Fonts

I like Comic Sans. It's clear and readable. And isn't that the whole point?

Those do look very similar though, apart from the italics.

How am I doing?

Hey, Been awhile since I posted on this board... thought I'd ask for some critiques on 4 years of comics! I thought this image was interesting... showing the evolution of a regular character. From my awful beginnings to the slightly less horrendous now: http://planescapecomic.com/Pictures/MilnyEvolu...

Re: Harry Potter Comics! (**warning: includes spoilers**)

I enjoy the dialogue, it fits well with the existing cannon. Pacing and posing of the lego figures is pretty spot on in most scenes, though I would work on your buildings and backgrounds. While they are amazing lego models of houses and trains and etc, working with the naturally bright colors of th...

Harry Potter Comics continues the Harry Potter storyline past the epilogue of book 7. A new band of villains arise with a nefarious scheme involving Voldemort's destroyed Horcrux...

Episode 100 for Planescape Survival Guide!

Hey everybody! Been awhile since I've posted on the boards, but I popped back in to do a little dance. Planescape Survival Guide is now 100 episodes long! So check it out if you're of a mind. It's a rousing tale of derring do against impossible odds... except the heroes are mostly inept. http://plan...

Mine fluctuate a lot based on how long I've made that particular episode. Saving as JPEGs with compression 35, they run between 100 and 400 KB, with an average of about 250. More compression just looks bad to me, and I'd rather have quality than the accolade of 15 dial-up users. That may seem harsh,...

Re: End-User opinion

FLAME=OFF As an end-user (reader) of the sites hosted by CG, I realize my opinion doesn't carry as much weight as the artists/writers of the sites. That being said, though, I am an important part of the revenue model for ComicGenesis. As for posting a "sticky," unless the forum is on a different se...

Generally speaking, Turnsky, when one "rolls up their sleeves and gets to work" they usually inform whoever is concerned about said work that they're going to do it. I should think most people being hosted would probably be willing to wait the 1-2 minutes this step would take. And yes "real life" ca...

this is true, mind you, the admins are prolly too busy doing RL stuff (like work) and fixing the problem to actually say they're fixing the problem. XD it can be a bit of unknown. I'm more curious as to what's the direct cause of the problems, though.. Hopefully after the 23rd, these problems will ...

I suddenly can't log into FTP either. And since I normally don't do it from this particular computer, I don't think its my cache (incidentally, I can log-in to the FTP of the other sites I work on).

New Site Design!

Hey everybody!

After over a year with a "humdrum" sort of site design, I've finally done some major overhauling. And I'd like the opinions of you fine folks!

My site is http://planescapecomic.com.
(Oh yeah, it used to look mostly like this.

Thanks!

Banner Ad Question (admin please!)

While doing some updates to my site design, and I came across this new design on a keenspot comic (http://www.crfh.net/). Since that's a pretty nifty integration of the banner ad, I was wondering if such things are allowed to us comicgenners. That is, building the comic title/banner/logo around the ...

On the subject of fair use, you're all forgetting the parody clause, which is how things like Mad magazine make money and don't get sued.
