Transparency in Photoshop?

I'm looking for a way to make one color (white) transparent in a layer. Is this possible?

I tried, but it ended up way too big. And I'll work on the white stuff. >_>

Two weeks because I'm lazy. 5 minutes to actually make the changes. <_<

Whee! I fixed a few things. Not the hands, though. I'm still practicing on that, and I don't want any half-assed hands making their way into my comic. Yes, I realize the irony in saying this. >_> http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/8273/thefirstone3dz.jpg That's what the first one is to be like. Bett...

Yeah, that's why I prefer scanning in hi-res.

Besides, if I do it in low-res, parts of my outlines and drawings sometimes get lost. o_O

UPDATE: Got it. Thanks much. :D

Photoshop Problem: Help With Shrinking An Image!

Whenever I scan something, it inflates the size of the image I scanned to gigantic proportions. In fact, to see it as it was intended, I need to view the image at 12.5%. I want to make the images smaller in Photoshop, similar to using Stretch/Skew in MS Paint to perform the same sort of action. How ...

Thanks a billion, guys! The tutorials proved to be sufficient help in getting started, but I still have one problem... The Accursed Pinky! Yes, that one tiny finger always seems so out of place. Lookin' so craaaaazy. ...So, for that reason, I'm debating whether or not to give them all 5 fingers. Wha...

I seem to be having a problem, as well... Just recently, I got my password email after the 7 day wait. I went to enter the password, but it did not work, claiming that the password was incorrect, but the form was working. I tried everything...went through the process of setting up a custom password ...

I'd say simply go for a deep gash. Fatal since you can bleed to death, easily remedied since you can stitch it up, plus there's some kind of powder in a few kinds of first aid kits that stops bleeding. Can't remember what it's called...anti-something-or-other.

Gut shots always work, too.

And as I say over and over again...if you get a chance, take a life drawing class...they fun, extremely helpful and you may get to look at naked chicks. I took one of those once. It actually helped me a lot for realistic drawing...which I unfortunately don't do that often. o_O And since it was a cl...

Heh, I draw mittens occasionally...for example, if they're pointing at something. Detail is one finger, and the rest is all in "mitten" form. o_O

Usually I don't draw fingers because I suck at it, but I'm going to be giving it a shot at some point this time around. However, since no one in the comic looks "real" (consider it: how human can they be if they know all the answers? o_O), I might just revert back to the blob hands. A terrible habit...

Whoa! Thanks a million, you guys. I've got an idea on how to establish a better artistic style, a few new fonts to help out my comic, and plenty of concepts. See you when the comic launches. 8)

Help with hands, please.

I've got quie a few problems drawing hands correctly. Whenever I try, they never seem to look right. In fact, I've resorted to merely sticking little circles on the ends of my characters' arms. :-?

Can anyone help me out, perhaps give me some tips?

I want to, but I really don't have that many font choices (plus I'm using an earlier version of Photoshop, because I'm cheap). Do you know where I could get more for free?

That's whats good, what's less good (but take heart it's the easier bit to change).... orange? Something's been up with my computer/Photoshop lately. When I made the layer for the background, for some reason I could only select between orange and a series of vomit colors. o_O Needless to say, it's ...
