Re: Introduction Thread - Welcome to the New and Old

Hello, all! Funny story: I stumbled into a cryogenic chamber three years ago and have just thawed. Naturally, my first instinct was to log onto ComicGen to see what I've missed. A ton, as it turns out, and yet everything still looks pretty much the same, with many familiar faces. Sweet! Oh yeah, I'm...

Re: Would your favorite song be good for Rockband/World Tour?

Computer crash, lost all my data, including comic files and whatnot. The last backup I did was in the summer of '05. Plus, I just got distracted with school, drinking, scaling the Alps, etc. I'm working on the next update now.

When I do filler, I try to make it at least somewhat amusing, so it usually stays in the archives. I have a bad habit of doing filler in the middle of a story arc, though. It does distract from the flow when you're going through the archive.

If you give a narrator personality, then the narration can't claim objectivity anymore - reader starts percieving it as a subjective point of view and starts doubting and reconsidering what's spoken. Narrator's eyes are eyes of reader too, and in most of cases, writers want to keep that view object...

You're letting this get to your ego? It's a bunch of yahoos on the Internet voting for what they think is funny. The Internet doesn't always have the best taste. (No offense, y'all.)

And yes, the publicity can only help. I'd never heard of your strip before now.

The God comic guy probably recruited all of his MySpace friends to vote all day or something. MySpace ruins everything.

I don't know, Degrassi is pretty over-the-top. Pregnancy, school shootings, drug use, probably bulimia...all handled with the subtlety of a jackhammer, and performed by the most annoying cast of tweens since Kids Incorporated (and they had Fergie). Like a lot of teen drama, the show is a funhouse-mi...
