There are filters you can use for stuff like canvas, but they suck pretty hardcore. In this case, Google is your best friend - just type in something like "Photoshop tutorial >>whatever material you're looking for<<" or "Photoshop tutorial texture". A lot of the tutorials you'll get will suck and lo...

I don't think it would be unlikely that the knife could knick a major artery, especially in the arm. If she brings her free arm up to hit the assailant/block the knife, her arm would be right there in front of the blade. If she tried to grab the knife blade, she could cut her palm and wrist very bad...

The banner is unfortunately a bit too big. If you could get me one that's 200 x 40 I'd appreciate it, and I need a short description to go on the dropdown page.

I've got you on the dropdown itself now, and I'll put you up on the page when I get the other stuff.

Heh! I've been doing concept sketches for the siren races, lately, so I've got lots of cheesecake.

However, one thing you're doing is wrong is you draw Malcolm's hair the same way when you do a front view as when you do a side view. Actually, this isn't always a bad thing. If it's used right, it establishes a strong, easily recognizable silhouette. Mickey Mouse - easily one of the most recogniza...

I do my comics entirely on the computer with a pressure-sensitive tablet. I do the sketch in Adobe Photoshop with the brush tool (usually set to about 5 or 9 pixels), then lighten the lines to grey and import it into Illustrator. There, I do the "inking" on another layer with the brush tool set to p...

If Comic Sans fits your comic aesthetically, I say use it. I've used it for a while because it fits my needs (The GrammarHitlerYouth in me Must. Have. LOWER CASE!), and the bold makes for easy emphasis. In your case, your comic looks to be modern and the characters so far are mostly young, so I'd sa...

If her dress is supposed to be super-skin-tight, there would still be some bunching and folding at the waist and especially at the elbows and armpits to allow for mobility. Otherwise she'd pop a seam every time she tried to bend over or move her arms. Also, I'd say there would probably be some horiz...

If you can find a copy of it, I highly recommend "Cartoon Animation" by Preston Blair. It's technically a how-to on animating, but it translates very well into static images, too. Blair worked for Disney (he did the dancing hippos and Mickey as the sorceror's apprentice in Fantasia ), so there's som...

The majority of my sketches and the entirety of my comic are made in Photoshop and Illustrator, using a craptastical 6x8 Aiptek graphics tablet (for a few brief, shining days, I had the use of a 12x12 Wacom before it crippled my P.O.S. computer). When I do use real media, I'm a big fan of printer pa...

Than I start to worry that maybe I'm joining too many, and people will think I a...

The tutorial is really awesome and a...

I voted for Burn because I liked those strips best (the first Burn strip is damned good), but both the Cel strips and the Burn and Cel are very nice. They make for good, crisp, contrasting colors. Oo! *volunteers*

Chaucer would probably be the obvious candidate, but Lisedui/the Door is forty-three, even if she looks like a little girl.

Or there's Phineas, who (although genderless and male in personality) can take on a female "human" form.

I'd suggest doing a lot of gesture drawings to get proportions and figures down. Gesture drawings are just very quick sketches - usually no longer than a minute to two minutes per drawing - that get you used to the body and the way it bends. No details, no facial expressions, no erasing, just a loos...

*shrug* I don't look at fanart, I don't read fanfic, and I don't really discuss those two things with any of friends who do. I didn't know the term, either.
