Re: Ehrm... An Introduction

Also there are plans to send the forum to space. YAY!!! Did someone shoot Brubaker? I have to know what that means. Among my friends, we have a running gag that when something bad happens to someone, it's because Ed Brubaker is writing their lives. As, for example, last week, when I got crashed int...

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?

And even that shit storm actually turned into understanding for a lot of people, once the details were clear. Not all, though. But quite a lot, considering that it is THE INTERNET.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?

wait... this is not how internet arguments are supposed to end... where's the person screaming and saying that they are never go on the internet again? Where's the youtube videos and MEME photos? Where's the critique of the bad grammar. I feel duped! You may want to steer clear of the adult fan com...

Congratulations on the anniversary! I actually used Mindmistress last week as an example of interesting and thought-provoking superhero concepts.

Re: What made YOU happy today?

A former classmate offered me a job that would suit me perfectly: Visualization for product development at a consulting house, primarily for welfare technology. And with a schedule that would allow me to continue the part-time mathematics teacher job I'm starting on next week.

Re: Awkward things you might say as an artist

Not as much the things I say, as the things I do. I unconsciously mimic the face expressions I draw. I have a rather lengthy quote list from things said at artists' conventions, though... Excerpts that were translateable "That's how I like my men! Tied up, helpless and with chocolate" "I want big bo...

That... is missing way more than one or two updates....
Depends on how regular you've set your update schedule to be.
My schedule is every 14 of August, and that's STILL more than two updates for me.

Re: How are you doing, comic-wise?

I use either a range of fineliners or a brush pen. The latter has the most vibrant line, but is harder to control, so I use it for quickies or when I take the time to do it right.

Re: What made YOU happy today?

I had my final exam as an engineer today, after setback upon setback in the form of traffic accidents and sick leave. AND I answered every question the examinators had prepared during my initial speech, so the exam itself was just a bit of chatting around the subject, AND they didn't even care to vo...

Re: Livejournal Thread 4: Can't kill what's already dead ins

Drill out the bolt, then use a tap drill to make an inner thread one size larger and use a bolt with that thread. Problem solved.

Provided, of course, that you have a tap drill and a bolt of the next size. And that there is room for the next size hole. And that you do not drill into a circuit.

I've got a job! Next year, I'll be teaching tenth graders maths at a school for creative youth; the school where I myself learned to draw.
Also, I calculate safety factors on random constructions for a technical designer.

Re: 24 hours comics day

Translated my comic. I pulled the key words "zombie", "dismembered foot" and "tunnel" out of three piles of inspiration words. Used too much time on sketching - didn't have time to ink it all, or make good shadows. Must ballance it better next year. about 25 minutes for each should be the goal. That...

Re: 24 hours comics day

No, the date changes slightly each year, but it's October-November-ish. And to the ones with hand problems: have you tried inking with a brush (or brush pen)? I find it much kinder to the wrist, and faster also, by the way. Or perhaps just do a 12 hours, 12 pages series. I do that semi-regularly, an...

24 hours comics day

October the 1th it's once more time for the comic version of Le Mans - 24 hours to make a complete 24-pages comic. Do any 'genners plan on taking up the dare? In Denmark, a group of us will gather and encourage each other at Fagskolen in Odense, and other hosts across the globe can be found at http:...

Re: Got a blog?

For me, it's Wordpress all the way. May be targeted often by spambots, but the excellent antispam plug-ins let perhaps one of them slip through per week on the two blogs I administer, and I'm by no means an expert on setting these things up. Wordpress is easy to administer, has loads of automation a...

Re: Carreer Talk - Past/Present/Future

Being part of a group that started publishing not-for-profit Danish comic books a year ago (and working on our fifth 70-ish page anthology) has reignited my interest in making comics. Currently, I am picking up my oooold Keenspace (yes, that old) comic that went on hiatus seven years ago, and work o...
