Y'know, given the current attitude of 'Mother Millfolk' (NOT Lady Millfolk), I have to wonder how Lord Millfolk turned out as well as he did. She has obviously forgotten everything she ever knew about raising kits (if she ever knew it in the first place).

I'm not trying to be mean, but I don't like what the last several posts are saying about France and hippies. I'm not trying to say, "You're wrong." I'm sure that there are rude and crude French people in this world, and it's okay to complain about it, but that could easily be the case in any other ...

At this point, there are way too many suspects, even accepting as a given that we have already met the bad guy (which is by no means certain). I am reminded of this line from The Addams Family movie, when Wednesday and Pugsley are dressed for Halloween: Woman: "And where's your costume?" Wednesday A...

If he is a member, then I doubt he has progressed very far in the hierarchy. He hasn't been in town long enough to do anything much to bring himself to the attention of the cult leaders.

Personally, I doubt he is a member of the cult. He's way too self-centered to follow anyone else's commands.

Oh, man - don't even get me started on the oh, so patriotic Senator Joseph McCarthy. He is very much on my 'Gee whiz, I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and beat the crap out of him' list. A "small infestation" of wights? Oh, come on - they could have done better than that. It could easi...

I remember reading this somewhere: If you want to find the average IQ of a group of people, add up the total IQ of all the individuals and divide by the number of people in the group. If you want to determine the IQ of a mob , add up the total IQ of all the individuals and divide by the square of th...

If you omit the fits and starts, yeah. Apparently, it came up long enough for a few people to read the 3/25 strip before crashing again.

One thread, where Ralph explains the difference between 'magesight' and 'kenning':

I was sure that there was another thread, but I can't remember the title - Anybody else who does, feel free to step in.

Actually, the term is 'kenning', and there was a really good discussion thread about this only a couple of months ago. Just scroll backwards through the topics, and you should see it. If I can find the exact title of the thread, I will post it here.

Since Quentyn's parents are there already, I'm sure that discussions between them have given him plenty to think about. Quentyn's father, being a sensible and peacable sort, probably held his tongue admirably, but Quentyn's mother , on the other hand, has struck me as rather... volatile ...when her ...

I think there's no doubt - Quentyn does say that 'the Millfolks' were there, not just Lord and Lady Millfolk. Actually, I'm curious about the other people who seem to be missing - if Nessie is there, then where are her mother, her brother and the Frog Mage? Oh, well - maybe there is a limit as to th...

There could be an effect similar to chillbumps, where the fur sticks straight out and makes the skin (and blush) visible. I know that some animals see different wavelengths of light than humans - maybe it's Ralph's way of showing that animals can 'see' the increased heat of the blush through the fur...

The First Rule of Adventuring - A "straightforward and safe contract" is generally nothing of the sort.

In other words, always read the fine print.

Yeah...heh.

My bet is that the bogeymen probably found a few breaches that led to the storm drains, and widened them into connecting passageways.

Y'know, given the nature of the tunnels that Quentyn has been strolling through, and given that they are separate from the storm sewers, I am rather surprised that there would be an unsealed manhole giving easy access. It just seems to me that some Public Works guy (or the Rac Conan equivalent) woul...

One of my favorite quotes: Albert Einstein - "God doesn't play dice with the universe." Enrico Fermi - "Albert, stop telling God what to do!" I think that it is the ultimate form of hubris for anyone to assume that they know what God will do for any particular set of circumstances. He IS God, after ...
