Re: Webcomics 101 for Teens

Thanks for all the great tips, guys- I'm going to include as much as I can.

McDuffies- the workshop is only one day for an hour (it's a crash course I guess)

Re: Lower/Upper case fonts vs. All CAPS

I like using all caps, but I think it ultimately depends on the look you're going for as well as wether or not it complements the artwork well. In terms of legibility, I think it's fine either way.

Re: Guilty Pleasures...?

I hate to admit it, but I watch every new cycle of America's Next Top Model. I'm also obsessed with bridal shows (I have a secret desire to be a wedding planner)

Webcomics 101 for Teens

hi everyone, I'm doing a workshop about how to make webcomics at the NYC Comic Con this year. The workshop is geared toward teens. I'm probably going to cover things like materials, ideas, how to register for a domain name, free hosts (such as comicgenesis), advertising, how to get the word out... A...

Re: Convention Season!

I'm excited about going to MoCCA Art Fest- not b/c I''m affiliated with the museum, but because I can say with complete honesty that it's one of the best conventions I've ever been to (and I've been to the San Diego con). I'm also going to be tabling there. I'm also excited about going to the NYC Co...

Re: Race in comics

My cast is mainly white though I have one African American and one Vietnamese in there too. Other than making them look like they're not white, socio-economically they all come from the same basic background. I guess I don't really put any stereotypes into them. Tiffany, the Vietnamese character doe...

Scott Kurtz is being ridiculous- how do you even qualify "hardness?"

Writing well is hard period- some people are "better" at writing comedy and others are "better" at writing drama. It doesn't mean that one genre is harder than the other.

Webcomic artist or cartoonist

I think "cartoonist" is a better term in the end, though I often use "webcomic artist" if I want to make it clear that I'm talking about an artist/writer that puts his/her stuff out on the internet.

I got 62 countries- I probably could've done better if I wasn't all panicky. I get so stressed when I'm put under time constraints.

They've recently started airing TV commercials for Persepolis. Marjane Satrapi was interviewed on the Colbert Report- it was cool.

Anyway, I'm hoping and thinking that Persepolis will win an Oscar, though I can totally see them giving it to Pixar instead (not that Ratatouille is a bad movie at all)

35.

I also misspelled "Fuchsia"- what the hell is "Fuchsia pink" anyway? I thought Fuchsia was already considered a shade of pink.

About 5 minutes ago, I went to sit down, and my jeans split in my inner thigh area I mean, wtf. What cheap ass jeans. Sadly, they don't make jeans the way they used to. It depends on the brand. They were from Uniqlo, which is a Japanese store that has made it out to NY. I really like their jeans- t...

I just saw this movie last night, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be. Maybe it's because I live in NY and so I know all the neighborhoods and how to travel around Manhattan (like getting from SoHo to Columbus Circle going up the 6 line is quite a trek), but it really creeped me out- ...

*sigh* sure sounds like a suicide to me, poor guy. from what i've heard he had trouble sleeping since he played the joker, it kinda messed with him. accidentally taking too many sleeping pills when you've had trouble sleeping isn't that unlikely. I don't think it was an accident. His medication was...
