It could just be the generic hero but it reminds me a little of RPG world. Could be good, I will have to withold judgement until I see more but we shall see.

It is difficult to judge a comic until it has run for a little longer...

There is an extension called adblock (it is in the list on mozilla.org) which can nuke those pop-ups. I don't actually use it on the Keen sites, since they are not so bad, but it can be helpful on those sites that do pop up advertisements in a layer right over the content or those that align them in...

Splash page? Generally, any arbiter elegantiae worth their title will tell you that splash pages are an irritation at best and a serious faux-pas at worst.

It is that irritating concept that gives you an index page with an image in the centre which is a link to the main page.
