There is an extension called adblock (it is in the list on mozilla.org) which can nuke those pop-ups. I don't actually use it on the Keen sites, since they are not so bad, but it can be helpful on those sites that do pop up advertisements in a layer right over the content or those that align them in...

Splash page? Generally, any arbiter elegantiae worth their title will tell you that splash pages are an irritation at best and a serious faux-pas at worst.

It is that irritating concept that gives you an index page with an image in the centre which is a link to the main page.
