Re: Advertise on Comic Genesis: Minimum Bid Amounts REMOVED!

woodmimosa wrote:Why was it removed?
The minimum bid amounts were removed as an experiment, based on the suggestion of a fellow webcomics creator. If the no-minimum bidding ends up generating more revenue than the relatively high minimum bid that was previously required, we'll keep it at no-minimum.

Advertise on Comic Genesis: Minimum Bid Amounts REMOVED!

As an experiment to see if it results in increased ad revenues, we've removed the minimum bid requirements on our Project Wonderful ad space...

Thanks for the heads up on this. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the javascript default set-up for our Valueclick Media ads. I've disabled Valueclick entirely until I find out for sure. Let me know if any of you notice anything else unusual. You can E-Mail me directly at superosity@keenspot.com fo...

When was he planning to tell us? Sorry guys, after I heard from Diamond I passed the news on by E-Mail to organizer Matt Johnson on December 21st, and I stupidly assumed he'd passed the word on to you already. He just replied back today to tell me he got it, as he's away visiting family for the hol...

Heya, CGers! If I could add in my two bits... For the title, I'd probably go with something simple like COMIC GENESIS 2008 to get a bit of consistency going, which a lot of people appreciate. For the pagecount, do you think it would be possible to go with 32 pages? 48 pages is fine, but 32 would be ...

WOWIO's been amazing for us so far. We received our first payment this month and it was eye-poppingly great. Here's how I see it, in TV terms (as I see pretty much everything): running comics on a website is like first-run primetime, and putting the archives on WOWIO is like selling your show into s...

Oh. Yeah, there was. There was what? Great. Now I have to crack Kisai's mods to PHPbb that makes SiteAdmin... Another thing to heap onto the stuff I have to get done for CG. If it's too much trouble and you've got more important things to do, don't worry about it. It's not a major issue. Like I've ...

Hmm, I think there was a misunderstanding, Kelly. I didn't want these alerts to appear on the PUBLIC websites of CG members, only on their PRIVATE account pages. You know, the page where each CG comic's stat logs and site maintenance are located (which I assume each of you check regularly). There's ...

300dpi is OK for color cover art. Interior pages should be 600dpi, though.

On the title, I think we should either keep the theme from 2004 and call it FROM PIXELS TO PAPER 2006, or just call it COMIC GENESIS 2006. The latter would probably be the best way to go for simplicity's sake, IMHO. The easier it is for the average Joe to identify it as the Comic Genesis FCBD book f...

I like "generators"

Welcome to Comic Genesis, everybody. Joel, if I haven't said so yet (or even if I have), thank you very much for the logo. It's awesome. Kelly and Kisai, when you get a chance, it'd be great if you could update the GUIDE with the new name and logo. It's currently displaying my ancient KeenSPACE logo...

Except that Ghastly Graham Ingels is long dead and thus I am not competing against him. His estate might disagree with you. The point is another artist is using the name Toonspace for her body of work. Which currently seems to consist of two freeware POSER 3D props. This means she has artem priore ...

Um chris, you know that everything but the http://www.keenspace.com site already points *.toonspace.com to *.keenspace.com . It's all a matter of switching one thing in the database, and then it works the other way. Oh, I was unaware of that. I'm not at all used to things happening that fast. :( We...

I DID use Google to search for the name beforehand, and frankly, I didn't consider that the title of someone's personal site on homepage.mac.com would be something that would have a lock on the name. If said person didn't care enough about the name to register toonspace.com (or any other variation t...
