Well, I can only do it if I have a guinnea pig, see. If you let me play around with your templates and upload them - even if only temporarily - so I can see the results, then I'll do it. Mind you, I might wait a day or so to see if anyone already has a better method they want to mention. Okay, let'...

non-working linkage in calendar, and disappearing ads

Okay, I'm 99% sure this isn't my fault, as all I did to create a calendar was use the calendar keentag. In my calendar (I tried it on 3 different pages, just to make sure), when you go to click on one of the "W"s to view a week, there's a extra slash in the URL, after the ".com" and before the "w". ...

It's clumsy and there might be a better way but it should work. If you don't know how yourself, I'm willing to run it up for you if you like and if it works, the technique can be put on the Gear later (if something similar isn't there already). yeah, I only know basic HTML, I've never worked with s...

There's no way to configure the rss system. RSS is XML so there's a whole bunch of restrictions on what kind of characters can be used. You pretty much can't use ANY html tags in it, and that's why it can't be changed, as the description strips that out. I might make it configurable at some point, ...

Calendar stylin'

So since I have 16 strips now, I finally decided to spiff up the "navigation" of my comic a little bit. I made some arrow gifs for the "previous", "next", etc, and added a calendar keentag to the template. I also formed a basic HTML table tag to make the "navbar" look a little more like I intended. ...

RSS feed

Someone on LiveJournal generously created a syndicate feed of my webcomic about 2 weeks ago, which is kinda cool because now anyone who checks their LJ friends page on a regular basis can be told when there's a new comic updated. The weird thing is, ever since I actually added a bio to my Keenspace ...

You shouldn't have public_html in your URLs. Just put /images/imagesname.jpg as your path. cool, thanks. I've fixed that, and will have to wait and see what happens... which brings up another question I've been meaning to ask. approximately how rapidly do updates occur? what I mean is, when i do a ...

banner and links

I was going to do the research and try to figure this out for myself, but when I went to the main Gear page, it does not resemble the page that I had used when I was first tweaking my page awhile back. And the first 4 things I clicked on gave me a 404, so I decided to just go ahead and ask here. Fir...

getting there...

for anyone who remembers my previous post, it seems that the reason that my <hr> tags weren't working on certain browsers is because these aren't just basic HTML documents we're dealing with, and i now have to learn to use the odd-looking <hr /> instead. i got the <center> tags working fine. they wo...

Re: feeling dumb (long post)

You can select a time for autoKEEN to run. AutoKEEN will then, every day at the selected time, look to see if you have a comic for today in /workspace/comics and if you do, it will update your website. Alternatively, yes. You can go to the manual update page whenever you have an update, and do it y...

feeling dumb (long post)

i posted this in gear, and someone told me to check out help. everything i can find is either stuff more advanced than i need right now (keentags? rant text? i don't need any of this yet), or hurdles that i have already overcome (i know how to scan and save images, and my FTP access is working just ...

feeling dumb (long post)

once again i have come up against something that makes me wonder how i manage to eat without getting covered in food, because i feel like a total f--king moron. either i'm just not "getting it", or the lack of links on the "gear" page that actually are links has become a barrier. i guess the easiest...
