Re: Webcomic Hate
A lot of these gripes I'm reading are similar to mine. Whoo, where do I begin? I feel like with the exception of two or three of my main characters, the rest of the characters are hardly memorable. Even though I have them act differently and they have their quirks and personalities, I don't feel lik...

Re: How important are backgrounds?
I think everyone already said what I'm about to say in a way, but I think backgrounds are important for comics that need to immerse the reader. For example, in a fantasy comic, or a serious, long story-line comic where getting the feel for the world, its surroundings, and all the small knick-knacks ...

Re: Webcomic Pet Peeves
Ooh, ooh, I have two to add that I didn't see here yet. 1. When people use the verb of something that is happening to a character as a sound effect instead of drawing it well enough so you can tell what's happening without being told. For example, drawing a panel where a character has a spear going ...

Re: my sexy drugsmuggling strip
I've been following this comic for several months now. I actually like it a lot. It sort of reminds me of a more "adult" version of Herge's work with Tintin, at least with the European feel. I don't know why people have anything against it because it's about drugs. I've never done drugs, never will,...

It doesn't even scale up. There's the image size , and then the resolution. Switching the resolution and clicking scale makes absolutely no difference. Thus why I'm wondering if it does anything at all. My newest comic I started off as a 300dpi. I always draw it big and scale down. When I went to sc...

Question about Resolution
This is a pretty specific question, but does anyone know if using Scale Image in the GIMP to change something from a low resolution to a high resolution works if the image has already been drawn? Or does it have to be set to a certain resolution when it is created as a new image? I had a comic finis...

Thanks for the continued feedback. It's all very helpful, I'm making a list of things to work on. The way you approached the material made it feel fresh and the art complimented the writing. Thank you for the praise, but I'm curious, how did the approach make it feel fresh? Other than that, just con...

Visualization / Writing Methods
What's your favorite way of hashing together a plotline or single comic kicking around in your head? For plotlines, I prefer to write out something similar to an episode / plot summary you'd find on the back of a DVD case or book, or in an episode guide. Then, I can break it down to each strip conta...
