I don't have the "Anonymous" check box checked, so I don't think it's anonymous. The address says "ateam.keenspace.com/," the same address I've been using for the last 13 months.

Smart FTP Problem

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

What the Hell is that supposed to mean? Does Keenspace not want my comic anymore? ACK.

YAY. I doulble-posted.

I updated the pitch to include a comic, and I thought a bump was in order to reflect that.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y11/VonAwesome/stripone.gif I made this using that GIMP program that was suggested. Took about 20 hours to do (mainly because it was unfamiliar software). It didn't help make smooth text bubbles, because I couldn't find a line/shape function, so I still had to do th...

I am sure that I could do them faster as well, but think of what would be lost that way.

Not much, but you know.

I am currently working on a hand-drawn strip. Wait until I release my art style upon the world. Kittens will cry.

Tell me about it. When I first started a year ago, they took an average of 8 hours (a full work day) to complete, and the early ones are almost straight cut/paste.

The goal is two updates a week, but my average is around once per week. These comics take 4 hours to make. I don't just copy and paste. For most panels I need a new prop or whathaveyou, so I have to find one, clean it up, and use it. It's typically hard for me to find a four hour chunk of time to pr...

Criticisms and suggestions?

Here is my comic, the Academic Team . I've been producing it for a year and a week. Criticims (positive and negative) are always welcome. Suggestions on how to improve o site layout o art work o writing o effects o lettering o anything else you can find are all appreciated. And yes, I realize I make...

Just letting everyone know that as of 12:24 p.m., Monday, I am getting the same error (connection timeout and whatnot). I am not usually one to complain, but I get around to making new comics so infrequently that I thought I would say something. In addition to the other people that have already said...

Anniversary

Awesome. This most recent comic was posted on the 1-year birthday of The Academic Team, something I wasn't aware of until right now. I wish I'd've known that at the time, as I would have done a special anniversary comic.

Anyway.

Not bad, but it would have been more enjoyable if:

a) I understood at any time what was going on

b) The panel changed focus off of the top half of the cat's head more often

The French accent ('ze French aczent') was well done, and how do I say, 'le cute.'

I am no longer a man.

Update

Alright, I fixed the archive problem that was mentioned, and there is a new comic as well. Enjoy.

Wonderful. I will probably link it with my next update, if that's cool by you. I just need a banner... oh, there it is. Found it. Green light it and you will have a link on my site, comrade.

Hmmm... I just looked at that. That seems like one of the hiccups in my redesign. Keentags are not agreeable to me. Let me work on that, because if I don't fix it, only four comics will be available for viewing, out if about 30-40. Thanks for the heads up.

Good stuff. I would just work on adding more to it, like new poses, facial expressions, backgrounds, and characters. Right now it's cool. Way to go.

I read the first issue of Virus. Not bad. It does appear to suffer from a common manga mistake, which is to have empty white backgrounds far too often. Other than that the art was fantastic.

Long in what sense? That they are physically too long in length (dimension-wise) or that they are long-winded/wordy? Or both? Or something else?

It's not bad, but not hilarious either. The art is surprisingly above-par for a sprite comic. I think your biggest problem is your title. I was put off by it, because i imagined some very not-good 8-Bit Theater rip off. But I enjoyed it once I got by that. My favorite was the Dragon Warrior comic. I...
