Bah! Muffins beat scones!

Muffins!

I wouldn't blame the artists first. I would blame the advertisers. How often do you see a commercial or advertisement that says "you are fine just the way you are?" There is no profit in telling people not to buy products, so no one pays to run that ad. Most commercials tell you that you need a prod...

200,000+ tons of garbage buried 1 mile behind my house
Bloom County (comic strip)
Ninja High School (the definitive postmodern b&w comic book)
Blackadder (british historic tv comedy)

Roughies has nudity. Only one main female character has appeared in the nude, Fay. This character is not flat chested; nor does she have a perfect model's body. She is very comfortable with her body, not ashamed in the least, but she is not an outright exhibitionist. She enjoys popularity, even with...

Thanks for the support. I plan to continue Roughies until I run out of ideas, which should take awhile. Hopefully I'll get around to updating the Explainatorium soon, including making the Explainatorium more interactive where people who come to my site through it can jump right to the comic strips i...

Yes, after 21 months, Roughies is approaching 500 strips (not including filler photo's). Sadly, despite a couple glowing reviews, readership has been on the decline in the past few months. I think the following have contributed: 1. Lately, it has been very difficult to maintain a buffer. The loss of...

I like a Norwegian sketch comedy show called Et Dukkehjem. You can watch it free at nrk.no. Of course you have to click on Nett-TV, then fill out a registration form in Norwegian, but it's free. Et Dukkehjem has some David Lynch inspired sketches, movie & tv parodies, musical acts, etc. Gunhild is t...

There's a fetish I just learned about that Robots and Cyborgs would be perfect for.

Lifting and Carrying (This site may feature a bare bum, you have been warned)

Have you seen Spiders?

It's horizontalastic! But that's only the beginning... it breaks the mold completely after that.

The best comic strip ever has side scrolling.

Just try to resist the scrolling. You can't.

How many of you have made your own birthday/holiday/get-well cards featuring your own artwork and/or your own comic characters?

I just did one, featuring Wister the opossum finishing off what was a Birthday Cake.

If you want to improve your artwork, I recommend two things.

1. Explore art.

Go to a museum. Go to the bookstore. Go on the internet.
Try different styles. Try different tools. Try a different medium. Read about artists.

When you've figured out what you want to do...

2. Do it.

Of course, a smooth body would make bodypainting easier. And who doesn't love Bodypainting? Or Tattooing. There are some people who tattoo on stylized ink designs in place of eyebrows or pubic hair. And there was that one guy who was so proud ...

I was addressing cultural issues about hairy people of both genders, not really trying to address sexism. The whole reason for starting this thread came about after I read about a group of nudists who say they are Nuder than Nude . They are Barer than Bare . They are the <a href="http://homepage.mac...

I'd be happy if the media was neutral on the subject of hair. It's not though. The cases of media insulting hairy people are few and far between, but they are there. The media's never-ending promotion of the idea of hairless people as the normal, beautiful people... the constant advertising for prod...

Pixar really needs to do a movie about hybrid animals. It would introduce the world to animals (just keep clicking Next Gallery) like the Liger, Ligon, Leopon, Jaglion, Pumapard, Boblynx, Caraval, Zonkey, Zorse, Zony, Cama, Yakalo, ...

Yes McDuffies, there are lots of other problems in the world, but those problems have nothing to do with what one of my comic characters may be hiding under their catsuit. You are definitely exagerating things. When Julia Roberts was seen with furry armpits at a London movie premiere, it was covered...

Ok, so... *shrug* ...what's your point? In fewer words, please? Shaving is annoying. And it's not a normal activity everywhere. Just because we do it, doesn't make it a universal human behavior. Body-hair is something our society frowns upon. The mass-media could use some positive (or at least neut...

For our ancestors, pubic and axillary hair were probably one of several visual signals that an indivdual was fully mature, and therefore could be considered as a potential mate by a member of the opposite sex. The different patterns of pubic, facial and body hair in humans (along with other secondar...
