Re: Have a question about comicgenesis domain names...

I'm one of those people without the .comicgenesis in my URL... a couple of years ago I bought the domain and it's forwarded to the site here (though this is apparently suspended). But yes, that's how we do it, we buy the domains and point them at our sites.

Re: Wiki doesn't like me [News on first post]

Code: Select all

1. DEBUG: Username: Moonshadow:moonshadow
Login error:
You have not specified a valid user name.
Error successfully replicated, if that helps.

Re: Wiki doesn't like me [News on first post]

Code: Select all

1. DEBUG: Username: Moonshadow
2. DEBUG: authenticate
3. DEBUG: Password NOT OK
My log-in attempt was with lowercase at the start of my username, same as for here and siteadmin.

Re: Wiki doesn't like me [News on first post]

No offense, but if that worked, I wouldn't have ever posted in this thread. I've tried every capitalization combination I can think of, every sequence of logins I can come up with, absolutely everything I can do on my end and I still cannot edit my Wiki.

Re: Wiki doesn't like me [News on first post]

I also keep getting the wrong password error; I've been able to log in plenty of times in the past, but currently nothing's doing it (logging in here, logging in and accessing via siteadmin, etc).

Direct code for adverts?

Okay, I should have seen this one coming, but I didn't. I just redid my site, and the new design totally bypasses the autokeen system. Which, as I should have forseen, means that the ***advertisement*** tag doesn't work. *beats head on desk* So, what I'm interested in is the actual code that autokee...

Okay, thank you, both of you. I guess I will be running through and fixing things, which is fine, I just wanted to know BEFORE I started uploading, because it's less of a pain to fix it now. As far as the pain of updating manually, I do know it's going to be worse than doing things automatically, bu...

Site building questions

I feel like I should know the answers to these questions, but it's been so long since I did web design for these servers that I've kind of forgotten. Anyway, I've just redone my entire site from scratch, and before I start uploading, I wanted to check on a couple of things. 1. Am I rememberin...

You mean halftoning? I personally use How To Draw Manga Computones with Photoshop, but I know there are some free halftone patterns out there for download... I don't have any of the major sites bookmarked but a search for something like "photoshop screentone" should turn up a ton of them (since you ...

At the moment, plans are underway to create a mirror site and redirect the URL there. If you're seeing this, well, then you know, but since the site is dark again, you're probably not seeing this... -.-;;

I'm really quite disappointed in this series of outages, too, since they started up right around the same time I started a heavier promotion of my comic this year... I can't see if my promo work has given me any results, and I've probably barely brought anyone new in with all the outages. I'm NOT bl...

I've heard there's a lot of downloadable tone patterns out there, if you substitute "Gimp" with "Photoshop." I also understand that Gimp can still read them (I think they're just defined patterns for use with the paint bucket/fill command; I don't use them myself.) I personally mainly use the tones ...

I kind of based mine off of movie ratings too... I do feel kind of weird that I'm MA, have violence, have nudity, but I won't have any obvious sexual content. (Though it's been pointed out to me that a particular scene does come across as somewhat erotic, which I hadn't thought about while doing it....

It's interesting seeing all the ways people work... I thumbnail in ballpoint first on script pages, then on a separate thumbnail page... then on a third page I do the pencils using a non-photo blue for undersketching and graphite for the actual sketch. That gets lightboxed onto heavier paper; I just...

Update Errors and new page updates!

I don't know how many people will actually find their way into the forum to see this, but it's not my fault that the site isn't updating, and if I could fix it, I would. But ComicGenesis has gone wonky, and isn't processing any site updates, which is frustrating, to say the least. In light of the me...

Now I wish I'd caved to peer pressure and added a tagboard to my site... I'd like to say that I won't shy away from showing anything... but sometimes I do get some conflicts of what I both want and don't want to draw, and I also have the conflict of what won't "damage" my writer. It's nothing that's come up yet, but my writer and I had a very long discussion about a mont...
