To echo what faub said though, the big problem with your comic HiddenReflections is that you kept the paper texture in the background. This gobbles up precious space like no tomorrow. There are two primary ways to address this. As faub said, you can play with Levels. Another way is to adjust the Bri...

I've found three ways of doing it at varying levels of quality. In all three approaches, you should use Layers to seperate the various elements of the strip - i.e. "Outline," "Colors," "Shades," etc. - Pencil, ink, and then scan. This is probably the most common way. Lay the foundation of your outli...

I think the real trick is not biting off more than you can chew. A lot of people can produce some very lavishly colored comic strips and, when they start out, have high aspirations for what they want their strips to become. But those aspirations aren't always feasible. Myself, I started right at the...

You know, the advertising information part hasn't updated for me since the end of September. I was kinda' curious about that too. The other states seem to be working though... at least I think they are.

I thought an establishing shot was a panel that essentially put the place of action in the foreground as opposed to a character. That is, the infamous "Meanwhile, back at the _______" shot. ;)

Alright. Took a little effort but I found it. The name of the program is HTTrack Website Copier. Their website can be found here: http://www.httrack.com/ I used this several months ago to save off a dying website before it went off-line. You basically give it a starting page and it will save everyth...

I knew from Linux how to text FTP for a long time, but it was never clear to me how you could change the local directory or how to disable mput and mget's confirmation prompts. Thanks! I'm not sure what it is with Mozilla, but sometimes it can get fixated on a certain cached version of a page and not realize there's a new version - even when you press Refresh. That's why if something doesn't work, I'll try to double-check it in IE (I use Mozilla exclusively otherwise). The manual ...

Heh. Yeah, as summarized, robots.txt is a special addition you can put in your main FTP directory that tells legitimate robots what to do if they happen upon your site. Everyday, the Internet is crawled over and traversed with robots, little automated programs that recursively blast through those bi...

It feels just a bit long. There are some parts, I bet with creative framing, where you can combine panels together.

By the way, it's "As per." Not "As par." ;)

Backgrounds are my bane. Minimally, I find I can pencil them enough to give the general sense of where everyone is. But in terms of coloring them, you got me there. I'm absolutely horrible at it. I think the idea of having many background "scenes" you can recycle is a good one though, so long as you...

Every Little Thing's "Future World" would be my theme song. Abbreviated down to the lead-in and chorus, I think it would make a very nice anime intro song. It's a very catchy and fast-paced Japanese pop tune. The lyrics, translated, don't quite go with the story though. ;)

My story is a bit weird. As a kid, I enjoyed <i>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles</i>. At the time I came up with Tai, it was a dead fad. My comic was kinda' meant to be homage to that old idea. Now, of course, that was some time before the comic actually started and - since then - the TMNT actually came...

It depends. In the short stint I did CG'ed work it took me forever and even then it didn't turn out too well. I took too many little shortcuts and the whole thing suffered. To do CG work in the way I'd <i>really</i> want to, it would take several hours I don't have. That would take about 1-2 hours p...

WS_FTP is remarkably crash-prone considering its simplicity. SmartFTP is okay. For really big jobs, I'd recommend LeechFTP. It can upload and download many files at once because it is multi-threaded. :)

At the risk of belaboring the obvious, have you tried refreshing and/or using a different browser? <strike>I'm not experiencing the login problem anymore so I don't know what to say...</strike> Apparently, some people are also having this problem. Hmm.

To keep the filesize for each comic reasonable. ^_^

I'm not really sure what "reasonable" is per se. The worst I've seen is about 150KB and so if I'm below that, I figure I'm probably okay. PNG seems to work the all-around best for me.
