Yeah, I've heard decent things about M. Ward. Gonna have to check him out when I've got a little more expendable income.
Don't believe the negative press on the latest Flaming Lips record. It's freakin' brilliant, though it does lose some momentum towards the end.

1. Bob Dylan, Modern Times 5. Tom Petty, Highway Companion Whew, I thought I was gonna be the only one to choose Dylan. >_> I'm not a big Dylan fan, but that album was surprisingly alright. My girlfriend played it a couple times when I came over. She said it wasn't one of his bests, but it was pret...

I've been detached from the music scene ever since college ended. You really need to be around like-minded people to bounce things off each other. I also just really don't care for the current trends in popular music. The faux-New Wave, emo, poppy punk stuff that's coming down the pipe lately just ...

Thanks for all the well-wishes, folks! Sorry it's been so long since I posted anything around here. Working as a teacher apparently saps a lot of my free time and energy. Admittedly, there are also these other considerations. To set the record straight: yes, she did ask me. I might have squealed lik...

Honestly, I'm still not sure what to think of that Darkgate site. On the one hand, I'm happy that more people can read the comic. On the other, I'm worried that things like this start really cutting into ad revenue, which is what keeps CG free. Not that they're getting all that many pageviews from D...

Welcome! A few rules...
Welcome to the new Dim Bulb forum! We've got just a few rules around here: 1. No spam. Dear Lord, if you spam here and I find you, you'll regret it. 2. Try to stay on topic. I know Monkey and I are often the worst offenders for going off-topic, but if it's a thread about the current Vapor Lock story...

I should probably make some sort of defense for the writers I lauded in my last post here, but literature (much like religion, politics, and sex) is just a subject based upon opinion. What one reader loves, another despises. For instance, McDuffies finds Pratchett and Douglas Adams too dry and...wel...

For the record: Terry Pratchett, Christopher Moore, and Neil Gaiman all own your soul. I'm currently reading the third book in Jasper Fforde's (that's no typo, that's how the guy's name is spelt) Thursday Next Series, The Well of Lost Plots . If you're a lit geek at all, these books will have you co...

The forum would be for feedback and for folks to ask questions of myself and Noise Monkey, and just for a general feeling of community and all that jazz.
Moderators would include myself and Noise Monkey.
Thanks!
